Robin "Robbie" Williams is a passionate writer, model/actor, filmmaker, bow tie designer, group facilitator, and licensed real estate agent, Robin was born to Jamaican parents in Harlem and raised in the Bronx. Robin has impacted over 150 lives on two continents through her healing movement Redefining Soft—which is a movement intended to deconstruct how members of the LGBTQ+ community show up in partnerships and to challenge the community's perception of the word "soft" and how it is used as a weapon against masculine-presenting lesbian women and trans men. Robin's love for building community and engaging conversations has evolved her list of passions. These passions are reflected in her work as the writer/director of the short film Garden of Eden, which was selected into the Creative Mind Group Short Film Corner Program at Cannes Film Festival in 2017. She is also the Editor in Chief of SOULE Magazine, and the owner of Bowtie Behavior, outfitting customers across the globe from Canada to Australia.

Within her work, Robin draws from a number of her most vulnerable experiences such as childhood insecurities with having dark skin, her struggles with climbing out of debt, to help others heal, feel at home, create their legacy, and find their place within themselves and in society. In 2018, Robin was also a media panelist at SLAY TV’s inaugural SLAY FEST alongside writer/influencer Jamal T. Lewis, writer/director Kenrick Prince, and Ryan Jamaal Swain of Pose. 

 

Robin’s formal educational background reflects her first two loves: writing and sports. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of D.C., where she competed as a scholarship athlete in tennis and basketball as a 2-time team captain and National Independent Tournament Champion. In 2011, she trained with the Jamaican National Basketball Team. Robin completed a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Georgetown University, with a concentration in Strategic Marketing and Digital Media while earning a conference championship and an NCAA tournament appearance as a Division II Women’s Basketball coach at her alma mater UDC.
